For over 60 years my family has been involved in the Montgomery River Region business community. My grandfather Mr. Jack Ingram started his business Jack Ingram Motors Inc. selling Studebakers in downtown Montgomery during the 1950s, and he always said, “To sell a Studebaker, you had to shake the bushes and be a real salesmen.” Over the years with hard work my grandfather turned his company into one of the premiere automotive dealerships in the southeast, from Mercedes Benz to Nissan, with 7 different automotive lines and a top of the line service department. I can remember someone asking him what his secret to success was, and he simply replied, “Live by the Golden Rule and be just as glad to see your customers whether they have a check in their hand or a list of complaints.” Growing up with this kind of work ethic taught me the value of customer service, during and after the sale as well as the importance of building long-term customer relationships.
As for myself, I have been involved in production agriculture for over 20 years. While managing a diversified family farming operation, I gleaned practical knowledge about agriculture, forestry, wildlife management and what it takes to run a business. Being a property owner myself I understand first hand the benefits and challenges facing property owners. Being a leader in the agri-business community and personal experience in property development provides me with a wealth of resources to advise clients with either buying or selling agriculture, timber, recreational or commercial real estate.
